App store analytics

What are app store analytics?

The level of data you can access can be divided into two categories: Basic insights offered by the app stores and more advanced analytics from third-party tools.

Basic app store analytics provides a good starting point for beginners with KPIs (key performance indicators) such as downloads, rankings, device type, geography, and revenue.

With more robust third-party analytic tools (e.g. App Annie, Sensor Tower), you can compare your app to the competition and use multiple slicers and filters.

You can also measure KPIs such as revenue, downloads, updates, ranks, reviews, and rank per keyword.

Advanced app store analytics provides competitive and vertical analysis, in-depth reports, and aggregated data per store, which is a must if you have several apps or different app versions.
